Your Big Day Through a Devon Wedding Photographer’s Lens

Updated: Oct 29, 2020

As wedding photographers in Devon, we are very lucky to get to see a wedding right through from start to finish, something only you and your closest friends and family get to see. There are parts of the day, especially in the morning when both parties are getting ready, that you and your partner won’t see until you receive your beautiful wedding package photographs. With that in mind, it is important you select a wedding photographer who will capture these very special moments for you to look back on as a married couple.

Emotional Moments Captured by Your Devon Wedding Photographer

There is no doubt that your wedding day will bring about a wealth of different and contrasting emotions throughout the celebrations. From the moment you put on your wedding dress or your suit, to your first dance, there is no denying that you will want your wedding photographer to catch every second. Other moments The Devon Photographer's love to capture are:

– The exchanging of gifts between the bride and groom.

– Getting ready with your bridesmaids or groomsmen.

– The reaction of your mother, father, relative or friend who is waiting to walk you down the aisle – their reaction makes the morning of getting ready so worthwhile.

Leaving No Beautiful Image Unturned

Every wedding day should run smoothly, and although you can’t help certain aspects from being delayed or cancelled, your wedding photographer won’t let any chance of capturing a beautiful image slip. Here at The Devon Photographer's, we think that the unexpected moments of happiness are the most precious images to capture. We know that the bride and groom won’t necessarily have the time to see and chat to everyone, and that’s why we are here. When looking back on your wedding photos, you will see a marvellous array of images which you won’t necessarily have been a part of, but will make for fond memories for the future.

Speaking to photographer and owner of The Devon Photographer's, Sarah Miller, she explains that the speeches are the most emotional point of the day: “The speeches are the bit that gets me the most, your closest family and friends have prepared some funny and loving words all about you and your life.

“The fact of the matter is (and it’s absolutely natural if it does happen!) you will be so absorbed in them that you will probably miss everyone else’s reactions. However, through our insightful photography, you will be able to look back on the exuberant facial expressions of your friends and family which you may have missed.”

Special and Surprise Wedding Moments

Of course, there may be a time during the day where you have arranged a surprise for your partner or for your guests. This could include a spectacular fireworks display, your favourite band or a unique flash mob dance, made up of your wedding guests. It’s moments like these where awe, love and excitement roll into one and make for the best photographs from your wedding photo album.

After all of the mingling and chatting, it’s always a good idea to reflect on the day with your new husband or wife. This is a lovely time for your photographer to come with you for a little walk around the venue, to capture some natural shots. Sarah adds: “My favourite time of day for this is around sunset, so we can get some beautiful natural lighting.”
