Frequently Asked Wedding Photography Questions
As a local wedding photographer in Exeter, here at The Devon Photographer's, we have many years of experience working with many happy couples on their special day. As a result, we get asked a lot of similar questions by our clients, so we thought we’d compile a list of your burning wedding photography questions, so you always know where to come if you aren’t sure of something.
What is your photography style?
We work together to capture natural, informal and creative shots of each couple’s wedding day, striving to encapsulate the true story of the day and the love shared by you and your family and friends.
Do you take traditional wedding photos?
Whilst our style is typically more relaxed, we know that the traditional wedding photos of the wedding party and groups of family members are still coveted by many couples, so we are more than happy to provide this on the day. It’s a good idea to prepare a list of family shots you would like to capture so that we don’t miss anyone!
What are your rates?
At The devon Photographer's, we offer a range of wedding photography packages to our clients. Each one offers something different, and the range of prices means we have something to suit everyone. If you are interested in any modifications to any of our packages, please do get in touch and we can discuss your requirements further and look to put together a bespoke package for you.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is payable at the time of booking and is £300. The final balance is due 3 months before your wedding date.
Do you have any travel costs?
We include travel up to an hour away from Exeter, but love to travel all over for weddings. If your wedding is a long way from where we are based, we may need overnight accommodation due to the long hours of a wedding day. We will need to look into these costs on a case by case basis and this will be done at the time of booking. For overseas weddings, flight costs and appropriate accommodation will need to be taken into account also.
What services do you offer?
In addition to our Devon wedding photography, we also offer a number of other services for couples on their wedding day. As mentioned, we offer a number of wedding photography packages to suit a range of prices and services. Included in all of these is our wedding photo booth, allowing family and friends to relax and get creative in front of the camera with a range of props and lots of laughs!
For a sentimental touch, we also offer the chance for guests to sign a large photo mount which can afterwards be used to frame your favourite image of the day – a gorgeous touch for the newlyweds home, full of happy memories.
How much time do we get with the photographer?
When considering a photographer for your wedding day, there’s no doubt that you’ll want to ensure that they’re there to capture all the best bits. At The Devon Photographer's, we know how important every single detail is which is why we don’t limit you to a certain amount of hours.
In fact, when you book with us, you will get a pre-wedding meeting at the venue (or elsewhere, if preferred) with photographer, Sarah, to discuss your requirements. Then on the day itself, we will be there in good time to see the wedding party getting ready, as well as staying right through to your first dance and the afterparty.
How long until we see the images after the wedding?
We do our very best to provide your edited wedding photographs within 6 weeks of the wedding. At certain times of the year, mainly during summer, things can get very busy so the waiting time may be a little longer.
Can I share my images with friends and family?
Absolutely – and we encourage you to do so! Our New York and Hong Kong packages even include two small wedding photo albums for you to share with family. For the digital copies, which you’ll be able to access via a password-protected online album, you will have full personal use and you’ll be able to share these as you wish.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we have full public liability insurance.
